連帯メッセージ
ミグランテ・ジャパンを代表して、日本とりわけ岩国の人々に大きな被害をもたらしている米軍基地に対してたゆみないたたかいを続けている岩国市民のみなさんに連帯のあいさつを送ります。ミグランテ・ジャパンはフィリピン人移民団体の連合で、抑圧され搾取されているフィリピン人の民族的な解放と民主主義のために、２４万人をこえる滞日フィリピン人の権利と福祉のために活動しています。
私たちは、米軍再編計画によって米軍基地が強化されようとしていることを遺憾に思っています。そもそも米軍基地は岩国などで人々の重い負担になっています。私たちは在日米軍基地が朝鮮半島や台湾海峡への侵略への出撃拠点として利用されようとしていること、また日米安保体制のもとで日本が軍事の強化を進めようとしていることを弾劾します。
ミグランテ・ジャパンは、岩国米軍基地の強化を拒絶する市民の意思を尊重することを日本政府に対して要求します。２００６年３月１６日の住民投票やその後の市長選などで市民の意思は繰り返し示されているのに、それをまったく無視して日本政府はなおも米軍基地強化に向けた発言を続けています。
私たちは岩国市民の側に立つ井原・岩国市長の勇気に敬服するものです。私たちは、声をあげ、軍事強化に反対する岩国市民の取り組みに大きく勇気づけられています。
きたる２月１０日の投票で、岩国基地の強化に反対する岩国市民の意思は再度示されるでしょう。 このかんと同様に主権者が勝利することを私たちは確信しています。
ミグランテ・ジャパンとフィリピン民衆は、岩国その他の在日米軍基地に反対する日本の人々、全世界の民衆とひとつです。フィリピンにおける米軍基地の撤去に向けたたたかいの経験から教訓を学び、私たちは今日もフィリピンに再び基地を舞い戻らせようとするすべての策動に対するたたかいをおこなっています。
さらに大きく声をあげましょう！米軍基地を拒絶しよう！日米の軍事強化反対！民主主義、自由、正義、真の恒久平和のためにたたかいましょう！

Message of Solidarity
On behalf of Migrante-Japan an alliance of Filipino migrant organizations fighting for the national democratic aspirations of oppressed and exploited Filipinos and the rights and welfare of more than 240,000 overseas Filipinos in Japan, we send our warmest solidarity to the people of Iwakuni for their relentless struggle against the US Marines Air Station in Iwakuni that has brought havoc on the lives the Japanese people, particularly in Iwakuni.
We deplore the continued operation and consolidation of the said US military facility under the US military realignment project that has caused heavy burden on the people of Iwakuni and the rest of Japan. We condemn the use of the same military facility as launching pad for Japan's aggressive posturing towards the Korean Peninsula and the Taiwan Straits which we believe is part of Japan's effort to re-militarize itself hiding under the US-Japan Security Agreement.
Migrante-Japan calls on the government of Japan to respect the will of the people of Iwakuni who have repeatedly rejected the further consolidation of the US Marines Air Station in Iwakuni most notably in the March 12, 2006 referendum and during the mayoralty elections that followed thereafter. The people of Iwakuni have already spoken yet the pro-US base camp under the baton of Japan's national government have totally ignored the will of the people.
We admire the courage of Mayor Ihara of Iwakuni for taking the side of the people of Iwakuni. We are even more encouraged by the collective action taken by the people of Iwakuni, for raising their voice, and for taking the side against militarism.
Come February 10, the people of Iwakuni will once again express their united opposition against the continued consolidation of the US Marines Air Station in Iwakuni through the ballot. We are confident that as in the past, their sovereign will shall prevail.
Migrante-Japan and the Filipino people are one with the the Japanese people against US military bases in Iwakuni and in other parts of Japan and elsewhere in the world. Our own struggle against the presence of US military bases in the Philippines has taught us lessons that we continue to embrace until today as we carry on the fight against every attempt to bring the bases back in our territory.
Let us raise our voice further! Reject US military bases! Reject US-Japan Militarism! Fight for national democracy, freedom, justice and genuine and lasting peace!
